Jackpot Genius Privacy Policy
This document applies to the Jackpot Genius app, published by Hare Trigger Productions LLC. It is not a general policy for other products or services of the company.
Overview
Jackpot Genius ("the app") is a lottery ticket tracking tool published by Hare Trigger Productions LLC ("we", "us"). This policy describes what information the app handles and how. The short version: your ticket photos never leave your device, we collect only what the app needs to work, and we never sell your information or give it to anyone for their own use.
Information you provide
When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and date of birth (used to confirm you meet the minimum age for lottery play in your jurisdiction). The lottery numbers you enter or scan, the drawings they belong to, and their win/loss results are stored in your account so the app can check and display them across your devices.
Signing in with Apple or Google
You can create your account with an email and password, or by using Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. When you use one of those options, the provider confirms your identity and shares your name and email address with us. If you use Sign in with Apple, you may choose Apple's "Hide My Email" feature, which gives us a private relay address instead of your real one. Because these providers do not share your date of birth, the app asks for it once on a short setup screen to confirm you meet the minimum age. If you delete your account, we ask Apple to revoke the sign-in token it issued for the app.
Ticket scanning happens on your device
The camera and the text recognition that reads your tickets run entirely on your device. Photos and scans of your tickets are never uploaded, transmitted, or stored by us. Only the resulting numbers you choose to save are stored in your account.
Sharing a ticket
If you share a ticket, that ticket’s numbers and your first name are copied to a link. Anyone who has the link can open it and add those numbers to their own tickets. That copy lives outside your account so a recipient can read it, and it is deleted at most 90 days after the drawing. Editing or deleting the ticket also revokes the link. Nothing is ever shared unless you tap Share.
Information collected automatically
A push-notification token for your device is stored so results alerts can be delivered if you enable notifications; the token identifies your device, not you, and is deleted with your account. If the app crashes, an anonymous diagnostic report (device model, OS version, and the technical state of the app at the moment of the crash, never your tickets or personal details) is sent to Firebase Crashlytics so we can fix the problem. The app also collects anonymous usage statistics through Google Firebase Analytics so we can see which features are used, for example how often scanning or the upgrade screen is opened. These measurements are deliberately configured without your identity: they are never tied to your account, they contain no advertising identifiers, and they are not used for advertising of any kind. Your ticket photos and numbers are never part of these statistics; wins are counted only anonymously (the game and the prize level, never your numbers, the amounts, or your identity). The app does not collect your location and does not track you across other apps or websites.
Keeping the service secure
To stop automated abuse of the app's connection to our servers, the app uses Firebase App Check with Apple's DeviceCheck on iOS and Google's Play Integrity on Android. These confirm that a request comes from a genuine, untampered copy of the app running on a real device. This produces a device attestation token handled by Apple or Google and does not identify you or read your tickets.
Where your data lives
Account and ticket data are stored with Google Firebase (Google Cloud), which processes data on our behalf under its own privacy and security commitments. Subscription purchases are processed by Apple or Google, depending on your device's app store, and our subscription-management provider RevenueCat receives your subscription status and a purchase history tied to your account ID so the app can unlock Pro features. If you ask the app store for a refund, the store may request limited information about your account and your use of the subscription to help it decide, and our subscription-management provider supplies it; your tickets, their numbers, and their results are never part of it. Publicly available drawing results and jackpot amounts are retrieved from public lottery data sources and are not personal to you.
What we never do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We do not show you advertising.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is retained while your account is active. You can delete individual tickets at any time from within the app. To delete your account and all associated data, use the option in Settings or contact us at the address below; deletion is permanent. Payment processors (Apple, Google) and our subscription-management provider retain purchase records as required for financial and legal purposes; those records are governed by their own policies.
Children
The app is intended for adults of legal lottery-playing age and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the app will present the updated version with a new effective date.
